On 17-02-2020 one Indian male pax arrived from Kuala Lumpur via Colombo at Chennai Airport by UL 127 was intercepted at exit. His personal search and examination of his checked in baggage resulted in recovery of gold chain weighing 70gms of 24 KT from his pant pocket and 21 Nos of small cylindrical cut rods concealed inside bolt fasteners kep, inside the umbrella frames and in biscut tins weighing totally weighing 198 gms of 24 KT purity. Thus totally gold weighing 268 gms valued at Rs.11.37 Lakhs was recovered and seized under Customs Act 1962.
